Job :

Main Mission: 

The Head of the New Projects Steering Department is responsible for the strategic steering, coordination, and success of the new business projects portfolio.
They act as the business referent and main Product Owner, ensuring projects align with institutional strategy, business needs, deadlines, budgets, and expected quality.
They manage change, support deployments, and ensure optimal adoption of solutions by end-users.

Main Responsibilities and Activities

Strategic Project Steering

  • Define, structure, and steer the portfolio of new business projects.
  • Prioritize projects in line with the overall strategy and institutional objectives.
  • Implement project governance mechanisms (committees, indicators, reporting).

Project Management and Coordination

  • Manage, plan, organize, direct, and control all project phases, from initiation to closure;
  • Supervise business project managers;
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (business, IT, external partners if applicable).

Business Analysis and Functional Scoping

  • In-depth analysis of business processes and contribution to identifying needs, optimization levers, and innovation opportunities;
  • Lead the definition of functional requirements and validate business specifications;
  • Ensure delivered solutions comply with business requirements.
  • Change Management and Deployment
  • Lead change management actions (communication, training, support).
  • Ensure adoption of solutions by the Network and business teams.
  • Monitor user satisfaction and propose corrective actions if necessary.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

  • Measure and analyze project performance (deadlines, costs, quality, impacts);
  • Identify, anticipate, and manage project risks;
  • Prepare and present progress reports, including project risks, to steering committees and management.
     

Required profile :

Education and Experience: 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (Bac+4) or higher in engineering, management, project management, or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in project management, organization, or transformation, including significant experience in complex or regulated environments.

Technical Skills:

  • Proven expertise in the microfinance / financial services sector.
  • Advanced proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
  • Ability to manage a complex and cross-functional project portfolio.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Strong ability to make decisions and solve complex problems.

Interpersonal Skills: 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Unifying leadership and ability to mobilize multidisciplinary teams.
  • Team spirit and strong collaboration skills, especially with the Network and remote teams.

Organizational Skills: 

  • Rigor and a high degree of organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and strategic requests simultaneously.
  • Excellent time, priority, and deadline management.

Managerial Skills: 

  • Ability to lead, supervise, and develop a team of project managers;
  • Aptitude to set clear objectives, monitor individual and collective performance, and evaluate results.
  • Assertive leadership to mobilize, unite, and motivate teams around strategic priorities.
  • Ability to manage complex situations, make decisions, and resolve conflicts constructively.
