The High Commission for Planning is an administrative body, under the authority of the High Commissioner for Planning, appointed by His Majesty the King. It enjoys intellectual independence in establishing its programs and conducting its surveys and studies.

It is the main producer of statistical, economic, demographic and social information and is also responsible for compiling national, quarterly and annual accounts. It also conducts, through its missions, prospective, socio-economic, demographic studies and economic trend analysis work.

It also ensures the training of executives in the fields of Information Sciences through the School of Information Sciences (ESI), and in the fields of statistics, econometrics and information sciences through the National Institute of Statistics and Applied Economics (INSEA).

The School of Information Sciences (ESI), created in 1975 and reorganized by Decree No. 2-15-943 of February 26, 2016, is an engineering school governed by the provisions of Law No. 01.00 on the organization of higher education. The school is under the supervision of the High Commission for Planning (HCP).

ESI is the only public higher education institution in Morocco for the training of engineers and senior executives in the fields of Information Sciences, particularly in Content, Data and Knowledge Engineering, Document Engineering, Competitive Intelligence, Strategic Watch, Information Systems, Information Management, Managerial Engineering for Info-Cultural Organizations and Heritage Valorization.

Its mission is initial training, continuing education, as well as scientific research, in order to contribute actively to the development of digital Morocco and the knowledge and information society in Morocco.

The school offers a rich and varied training program, integrating strong components in engineering and management, enabling the training of highly qualified professionals in the field of information and data, capable of meeting the needs of a constantly changing job market, as well as current and future challenges and issues in processing and valorizing content.

Initial training and scientific research at ESI are structured around the following areas:
• Knowledge and Content Engineering;
• Information Systems Engineering;
• Document Engineering;
• Competitive and Strategic Intelligence.

ESI has two departments: Data, Content and Knowledge Engineering (GDCC) and Document Engineering, Strategic Watch and Records Management (GDVSRM). Each department is responsible for teaching a list of modules established by the school.

Job :

Main missions:

The Director of the School of Information Sciences will have the following main missions:

• To ensure the organization and management of the School of Information Sciences (ESI) and coordinate all its activities;
• To work, within the framework of the prerogatives conferred upon him/her, on the development of the School's plans and strategy, and to ensure its scientific and intellectual influence;
• To ensure the smooth running of studies, to carry out control work and to take all appropriate measures to guarantee the quality of training within the School;
• To strengthen the School's role in scientific and technological research, particularly in the context of doctoral or master's studies, and to promote the dissemination of knowledge in the disciplines covered by the School;
• To develop and monitor the implementation of programs related to continuing education and the acquisition of expertise in the School's fields of competence, in partnership with national and foreign organizations;
• To establish and consolidate cooperation and partnership relations with similar institutes and institutions as well as with any public or private entity, national or international, interested in research and training in the School's field of competence;
• To chair the establishment's council provided for in Article 35 of Law No. 01.00 relating to higher education and to determine its agenda in accordance with the provisions of the council's internal regulations;
• To ensure the administrative and financial management of the School, supervise human resources and propose the necessary measures and provisions for their management;
• To ensure compliance with current legislative and regulatory texts as well as the School's internal regulations, and to take all necessary measures according to circumstances;
• To prepare periodic reports on the School's achievements and to formulate proposals for its development.
   

Required profile :

This call for applications is addressed to candidates who meet the following conditions:

• Be of Moroccan nationality;
• Be specialized in fields related to information sciences;
• Justify a high level of higher education and the required skills;
• Justify a professional experience of at least ten (10) years in the public or private sector, in Morocco or abroad, allowing to assume the missions related to the position;
• Submit a development project for the School.

The file must imperatively include the following documents:

1. The standardized form duly completed;
2. A concise copy of the candidate's curriculum vitae;
3. A letter explaining the motivations for applying for the position;
4. All documents proving that the candidate meets the conditions and possesses the skills required for the position mentioned (diplomas issued by foreign universities and schools must be accompanied by the equivalence decree);
5. A project through which the candidate presents their work program and their vision for improving the School's performance, which will be discussed before the selection committee.
