Job :

As part of its maritime activities, SGS Morocco is recruiting a Maritime Surveyor in Nador.
Reporting to the Survey Project Manager / Operations Manager, you will be involved in measuring, checking, and certifying the quantities of goods (solid and liquid bulk) during loading and unloading operations of ships.
You will play a key role in the reliability of measurements, compliance with international standards, and meeting customer requirements in a demanding port environment.

Your main tasks:

• Carry out Draft Survey operations (initial, intermediate, and final)
• Perform Ullage Surveys for liquid cargoes
• Measure ship drafts and tank levels
• Calculate tonnages from tables and technical documents
• Verify and analyze ship documents (certificates, cargo plans, hydrostatic tables)
• Identify discrepancies, inconsistencies, and validate calculation results
• Supervise and support junior Surveyors
• Coordinate with port, maritime teams, and various stakeholders
• Write Survey reports (Draft and Ullage) and provide evidence (photos, certificates, time sheets)
• Prepare incident reports and letters of protest if necessary
• Participate in the management of technical disputes and defend measurement results
• Strictly apply HSE rules and contribute to risk assessment
 

Required profile :

• Training from Bac+2 to Bac+5 in merchant marine, marine engineering, logistics, mechanical/industrial engineering, or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of experience in maritime surveying
• Proven expertise in Draft Survey and Ullage Survey
• Experience in a port or industrial environment highly desired

• Good knowledge of international surveying standards

• Ability to supervise and work in a team

Languages:

• Fluent French
• Professional English required
