Title: BAHRI ASSOCIATION For the protection of our coastline and the awareness of future generations On the occasion of Earth Day, the BAHRI association organizes the 8th beach cleanup operation in Casablanca and Morocco.
Following last year's success, which allowed for the collection of 3 tons of waste and the mobilization of 2,500 people – including the mayor of Casablanca, Mr. Sajid, the US ambassador, Mr. Kaplan, the US consul general, Mr. Shukan, several schools, associations, orphanages and companies –, the BAHRI association is once again deploying its energy and volunteers on Sunday, April 21, 2013, starting at 9:30 am for the 8th BAHRI DIMA CLEAN operation.
As part of World Earth Day, this operation aims to clean up the waste polluting the beaches of Casablanca, Mohammedia, Oued Cherrat, Ain Sebaa, Dar Bouazza, Safi and Mehdia.
In Casablanca, the BAHRI DIMA CLEAN operation will take place on Ain Diab beach. The initiative aims to mobilize 4,000 people of all ages and social classes, and also intends to raise awareness among young generations about the essential concepts of ecology.
The environment, BAHRI DIMA CLEAN and young people!
At a time when the environment is a major issue, the BAHRI association pays particular attention to the involvement of young people in environmental issues and the preservation of the Moroccan coastline. During the past seven editions, children involved in the enhancement and preservation of the sea have actively participated in the waste collection.
World Earth Day will allow BAHRI to combine the environmental cause with a multitude of events, workshops, shows and sporting activities. Objective: to raise young people's awareness of ecological issues, while offering them a unique opportunity to experience a day rich in new and unforgettable experiences!
Program:
- Sporting activities: beach soccer, beach volleyball, beach tennis, surfing initiation, bodyboarding and judo.
- Artistic workshops and games: painting, cartoonists, mosaics, recycling, treasure hunt, ball shooting, make-up, photography, coloring, laughter yoga, theater, puppets, inflatables.
- Shows: dances, magic, capoeira, batucada, jugglers, acrobats.
- Concert for the environment with: Gnawa Click, Nadia and Zineb Ayoub and the American rapper BIG ALI.
A Dutch artist and French sculptors will also be present to create sculptures from recycled waste or a sand sculpture over 10 meters long!
As every year, the BAHRI DIMA CLEAN operation will welcome several personalities, oceanographers, scientists, foreign artists and will be an opportunity to carry out the association's main project: installing 100 bins on Ain Diab beach, 25 signs at beach entrances and carrying out daily cleaning of the beach thanks to a team of 10 cleaners.
BAHRI DIMA CLEAN or shared awareness!
In addition to cleaning the Moroccan coastline through anti-pollution actions supported by various sponsors and institutional partners, the BAHRI association also works to promote individual responsibility and put in place eco-citizen habits that, in the long term, will help keep the beaches clean all year round.
The aim of the BAHRI DIMA CLEAN operation is therefore to educate minds and to establish new habits in favor of environmental preservation. Why? Because: Cleaning is good, not polluting is better!
