A rewarding job, friendly colleagues, a pleasant workspace...to the list of factors that contribute to our happiness at work, researchers from the University of Zurich add a series of character traits, such as optimism or prudence, etc.
Researchers were interested in the relationships between these three elements: the content of the work, the degree of professional satisfaction, and the personality of the worker. For this, a group of 1,000 employees was subjected to tests.
Confined to an office alone, a sociable person will be unhappy, it's obvious. Isn't it every worker's dream to perform a function that is in line with their talents, values, and personality? According to researchers, the most fulfilled employees are those who manage to exploit at least 4 facets of their personality in their work.
But the researchers did not only observe this obvious fact; they also listed the 10 character traits that best adapt to the corporate world. Here they are:
Honesty
The pleasure of learning
Sociability
Taking a step back
Sense of justice
Enthusiasm
Prudence
Leadership
Optimism
Ability to work in a team
The definition of a happy worker?
To be a fulfilled worker, the ideal is therefore to possess several of these 10 qualities and to have a position that allows them to be fully expressed.
Is this your case? We hope so!
