1300 Jobs Await Aircraft Dismantling Plant

The project of the aircraft dismantling plant planned by Tunisian businessman Ameur Abdennadher near Gabes-Matmata airport was the focus of a press conference held Monday in Gabes.

During this meeting, the investor estimated the project cost at 60 million dinars.
He indicated that this project is the fifth of its kind in the world and will provide approximately 1300 jobs from its start, reaching more than 3000 jobs after the first three years.

Mr. Ameur Abdennadher also highlighted the economic and social importance of this project, thanks to the recovery of aircraft components such as aluminum.

He explained that the chosen location in the Gabes governorate and the existence of an internationally-standard airport, a large commercial port, and a highway under construction were factors that favored the choice of this region for the project.

During the meeting, attended by businessmen and representatives of civil society, he expressed his "concern" about the lack of response from the administration concerning this project.
