Audiovisual partnership days, October 26 and 27. On the way to Tunisia's advanced status in the EU. The Franco-Tunisian audiovisual partnership days are scheduled for October 26 and 27, 2010, during the Carthage Film Days, announced Mr. Pierre Ménat, French ambassador to Tunis, during a debate held at his residence the day before yesterday.
The objective is to ensure a better presence of French and Francophone media in Tunisia and to better promote our country in France.
The Franco-Tunisian partnership in the audiovisual field is part of the four objectives set by the ambassador in the collaboration between the two countries.
The employment sector also saw a Franco-Tunisian forum this year in April. The event recorded 3000 visitors, 1300 jobs offered, 518 internships and 360 recruitments. A website is being set up for this purpose. Only the budget priority is for sustainable development. Today, approximately 3000 people have found a job in France.
The embassy also grants about ten skills cards per month. These cards allow those who have projects to reside, launch their project or move freely in France.
The third objective is the cultural aspect. The Charles De Gaulle media library will also be renovated to become a large cultural center, also including the offices located on Avenue de la Liberté. It will include cinema and conference rooms among its buildings and language courses will be given there. France welcomed 4900 students this year, 700 more than the previous year. There are 11000 students of all levels, including 2500 doctoral students. Representatives of the French ENA also come to recruit civil servants in Tunisia for their long international cycle.
There are also 27000 students in French schools and the Carthage International School will be homologated until the baccalaureate from the 2010-2011 school year.
Finally, there is the centralized cooperation which should be deepened according to Mr. Pierre Ménat and for this, the communities are invited to visit each other and get to know each other. In this context, Mr. Michel Vauzelle, president of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, will be in Tunisia between June 15 and 17.
Regarding the economy, let us remember that France is Tunisia's first partner and also its first local investor. In the last few weeks alone, we have witnessed the arrival of Orange, the start of construction of the Aerolia plant, the birth of the Zodiac Paris sector in Enfidha and the completion of other major projects. The Tunisian technopoles, which are also successful, also have a strong presence of French companies, particularly in Sfax.
Advanced Status
France has already announced its "unreserved and unconditional" support for Tunisia's advanced status. A principle agreement has been given by other European countries which have affirmed their will to succeed. Today, we are discussing the modalities concerning politics, research and bringing people closer together (to gradually achieve freedom of movement of people). The advanced status will indeed allow Tunisia to benefit from the same advantages granted to European Union countries in the field of research.
