1. Mass applications are a mistake. It is better to send 3 targeted resumes per week rather than 30 generic applications. The era of the single, standard resume is over, if it ever existed.
2. Multiple versions are the right approach. To match your interlocutor's expectations. If a general engineer has several professional projects, they must adapt their application to the position. A resume focused on design offices, a second focused on quality, and a third focused on methods or processes will allow them to personalize their application.
3. The cover letter follows the same logic. It is a commercial document that aims to convey a message. A cover letter that uses stereotypical phrases will not be read.
4. The recruiter is looking for concrete and practical information. They highlight the candidate's skills and demonstrate their knowledge of their environment. A recent graduate must convince the employer that they are not a job seeker, but a "service provider."
