7 Mistakes to Avoid During a Job Search

1. Don't succumb to the temptation of mass applications. Sending 200 generic resumes risks getting you "blacklisted" by large companies, making it hard to contact them later.

2. Don't wait for the ideal job offer, and don't stop your search while waiting for a response if you think you've found it! It's not constructive to bet everything on one position.

3. Don't isolate yourself. While the internet is essential, you won't find a job by staying glued to your computer. Online searching should ultimately lead to real-life meetings.

4. Don't constantly question your project.

5. Don't settle for student jobs.

6. Don't overestimate yourself by only aiming for large groups or high-responsibility positions with high salaries. Getting yourself into the job market is the best way to get closer to the position you really want. Of course, you shouldn't underestimate yourself by accepting just anything.

7. Don't copy standard resumes and cover letters published in guides. Recruiters can spot these copy-pastes and don't appreciate them.
