9th edition of the OFPPT's careers and training forum

The Office for Vocational Training and Labor Promotion (OFPPT) held the 9th edition of its careers and training forum yesterday. This ceremony, themed "Vocational training, an asset for youth employment and business competitiveness," was to honor OFPPT partners, best managers, and award-winning agents from 2011-2012.

Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkirane, who attended, highlighted the importance of vocational training as a key driver of Morocco's economic and social development. Speaking at this edition, Mr. Benkirane said he was ready to provide the necessary support to promote youth employment. "The government gives strategic priority to this sector to promote youth employability, foster their integration, and strengthen the competitiveness of businesses," he stated, recalling the main axes of the new integrated strategy for vocational training by 2020. This involves "supporting socio-economic projects, meeting the growing demand from young people, providing training for populations with specific needs, and ensuring continuous training throughout professional life."

Larbi Bencheikh, OFPPT's director-general, presented the main projects undertaken to establish the office as a key player in youth qualification. "By qualifying young people, the OFPPT aims to support all the Kingdom's strategic projects to ensure a training offer that meets the current and future demands of a competitive dynamic economy," he confirmed.
All this brings up another aspect: services to businesses. In this regard, the director-general underlined the OFPPT's commitment to promoting business competitiveness by "revitalizing" continuous training, particularly for SMEs.

At the end of the ceremony, awards were presented to several socio-economic figures who have worked alongside the office to develop vocational training. Merit awards and diplomas were also given to the best managers and trainees who distinguished themselves through their end-of-training projects.
