APM Terminals Tangier welcomes the first class of its new MDPA program!

On Monday, November 12, 2012, APM Terminals Tangier welcomes the first class of its new MDPA program!

Our company, a subsidiary of the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group, a world leader in maritime transport, is today the world's number 1 in port management and terminal operation, with interests in more than 69 ports and 25,000 employees worldwide.

With the aim of helping develop skills in Morocco, we have launched the "Management Development Program by APMTT", a development program for new graduates wishing to discover the daily challenges faced by management members of any organization and to learn the container terminal business.

With this program, APM Terminals Tangier has a double objective:

- On the one hand, to offer new graduates the opportunity to develop their professional and personal skills; and to facilitate their integration into the professional world.

- On the other hand, to allow APM Terminals Tangier to build a pool of skills to meet its future needs.

According to Leila Fadil, HR development Manager, "From their first day, the MDPA "Trainees" will benefit from direct contact with professionals in the field for theoretical and practical learning". This development program will prioritize versatility and the "On-the-Job training" approach. Indeed, the MDPA "Trainees", thanks to a rotation system, will discover all the company's departments where they will be confronted with the realities and daily challenges of the working world.
Throughout the eight months of the program, the "Trainees" will benefit from the supervision of a "Mentor" responsible for ensuring their coaching and supporting their learning.

"The MDPA is a dynamic and continuous approach to development not directly linked to the current need to fill a position. The MDPA is a springboard that will allow the "Trainees" to give a significant boost to their careers, both within the A.P. Moller - Maersk group and elsewhere in another field of activity", affirms Assid Houbane, Human Resources Director at APM Terminals Tangier.

"This program is part of APM Terminals Tangier's ongoing efforts to distinguish itself as a "Learning and skills exporting" company", recalls Hartmut Goeritz, General Manager of APM Terminals Tangier.

Following this positive experience, a second class will be launched very soon.
