Call for a National Pact for Education, Vocational Training, and Employment

The new national strategy for vocational training, presented on Friday, provides for the adoption of a multi-party national pact for education, vocational training, continuing education, and employment, associating the State, social partners, and representatives of civil society.
The vocational training strategy for the 2014-2018 period, presented by the Minister of Vocational Training Nawfel Jammali, is based on improving the performance and quality standards of the vocational training system.
This involves the adoption of national vocational training standards, the activation of the national body so that it can evaluate and guarantee the quality of vocational training, ensure the accreditation of training centers in the public and private sectors, put in place a unified system of pedagogical evaluation and control while ensuring the search for new sources of funding.
At the press conference, the start next week of preparations for the establishment of the new body for the development of human resources was also announced.
Initially, a committee will be set up bringing together representatives from the Presidency of the Government, the Ministries of Education, Higher Education, Scientific Research, Vocational Training, Employment, and technical ministries.
This committee will be responsible for developing the legal framework setting out the prerogatives of this body, which will be permanent.
