Workshop on "Energy Efficiency and Employment"

Energy efficiency and employment was the theme of a workshop held on Friday in Tunis, on the initiative of the National Agency for Energy Efficiency (ANME), in collaboration with the Ministry of Vocational Training and Employment.
The workshop, which is part of the month of employment and regional development (September 12-30), aims to discuss strengthening the employability of young people in promising sectors, including energy efficiency and renewable energies.

It is a matter of highlighting the importance of the energy sector in driving development and investment and its capacity to create additional jobs, particularly in this transitional phase that the country is going through.

The meeting was an opportunity to highlight the need to combine the efforts of all economic and industrial actors in order to create more job opportunities and meet the expectations of young people in terms of training and recruitment, including in particular university graduates.

The presentations given at this workshop focused on employment and regional development, the national energy efficiency strategy, job creation opportunities in the field of energy efficiency, new jobs and training needs, pilot actions and partnership agreements, in addition to a round table on the "roles of the various actors in job creation in the field of energy efficiency".

Under the title "The National Energy Efficiency Strategy", the second presentation focused on the national energy context and the challenge of economic competitiveness. It looked at the national energy efficiency strategy, which is a prerequisite for job creation.

"Job creation opportunities in the field of energy efficiency" was the theme of another presentation on jobs offered in this field in Tunisia and around the world.

Another presentation on "new jobs and training needs" highlighted the low integration of renewable energies into the vocational training program and the need to identify training needs in the field of energy efficiency.
