Unemployment Benefit Increase from 150 to 250 TND
Two weeks ago, the Tunisian government implemented an unemployment benefit for young graduates, setting it at 150 dinars. This included healthcare coverage in public facilities and discounted public transportation. In return, young unemployed individuals were expected to participate in part-time volunteer work. Young graduates without jobs expressed dissatisfaction with this amount, deeming it insufficient to meet their basic needs. They have protested daily in front of the Ministry of Training and Employment to demand an increase in this allowance and faster integration into the workforce. We have learned that this allowance will increase from 150 to 250 dinars in the coming days, with additional support for young people with exceptional circumstances and those from low-income families.
