Do you know that entrepreneurship is the path to the future?
Studies in the United States show that small businesses now generate more jobs than large multinationals.
"Entrepreneurs are those who raise the standard of living around the world because they are the ones who build things, create jobs and have the most impact."
Jeff Walker, inventor of the Orchestrated Launch
Being your own boss and using your talents, expertise and passion is a prospect that many of you have probably imagined. Many hesitate and I understand them.
Starting your micro-business is one thing. Making it last is another. According to Statistics Canada, the overall survival rate of micro-businesses is 33.7% after five years.
I passionately believe in the importance of entrepreneurship and experience has convinced me that it is one of the best schools of personal development there is. To grow your business, you constantly need to surpass yourself. That's why starting your own business is so attractive and at the same time terrifying.
To take the necessary risks and venture into uncharted territory, you will need to learn to appreciate uncertainty. You will need to tame your fears and overcome your doubts. You will need to find ways to stay centered and balanced. And you need confidence and energy to go for it.
If you think that business will slow down your commitment to your evolutionary process, you are wrong! It's rather an accelerator!
As T. Harv Eker said: "Your income will grow at the same rate as you." Growing is a must!
Business forges your character by offering you multiple opportunities to discover and tame your inner demons. Emerson gave good advice on this subject: "Do not waste your life doubting and fearing. Spend yourself in the work to be done, being assured that the performance of this hour's labor is the best preparation for the hours and years to come."
Do you want to increase your self-confidence? Rest assured! In action you will have multiple opportunities to do so. This is how you will develop your confidence, not by waiting to be confident to get started.
You will of course need compassion for yourself. You will have multiple opportunities to learn from your mistakes. You will then remember that there is no failure, only opportunities to get feedback that you will use.
When you make the leap from salaried employee to self-employed worker, you give birth to a whole new YOU. A YOU aware that his new reality will present him with challenges, including that of learning to enroll clients. A YOU confident in his ability to meet these challenges and motivated to do so. A YOU able to surround himself with competent resources to support him in action.
Entrepreneurship is the royal road to personal growth and to making your particular contribution to the advancement, not only of the field in which you intervene but also to the advancement of the world.
Engage with confidence, seek help when needed and watch your dream take shape!
To your success!
