World Bank: $50 Million to Support Employment in Tunisia

On Thursday, July 1, 2010, the World Bank office in Tunis approved a $50 million loan to support employment programs in Tunisia.
The goal of this loan is to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of job placement in Tunisia, particularly by improving active employment programs.
"This Development Policy Loan (DPL) is the first step in a five-year program of labor market reforms," said Rebekka Grun, lead economist and project manager.
She continued, "It will support the presidential program for the next five years (2009-2014), thereby promoting employment rates and facilitating the transition of the economy towards high value-added sectors."
