Central Test Announces the Launch of its New Personality Questionnaire - Profil Pro 2

Central Test, true to its principles of innovation and quality, is launching a new work personality questionnaire on December 4th: Profil Pro 2.
A completely revised version of Profil Pro-R, Central Test's flagship test for over 12 years, Profil Pro 2 uses the latest statistical methods to reduce the impact of social desirability (i.e., the intentional or unintentional tendency to present oneself in a favorable light), a major issue in recruitment or internal evaluation situations. It thus becomes one of the most reliable tools on the market, providing a detailed analysis of a person's personality, values, and motivations in a professional context.

A New Generation Questionnaire

Profil Pro 2 was built and validated using Item Response Theory (IRT) to avoid the pitfalls of classic evaluation, namely questionnaires that are too long and weak control of social desirability. Traditionally, personality questionnaires are distinguished as "normative," offering a single-dimension evaluation for each question (e.g., "I like meeting new people"), and "ipsative," offering a forced choice between intersecting dimensions (e.g., choosing between "I like meeting new people" and "Improvisation doesn't bother me"). Normative versions are better for comparing individuals, but their main drawback is that they are easy to manipulate.

As for ipsative versions, while their main advantage is better avoidance of social desirability bias, they favor intra-individual comparison to the detriment of inter-individual comparison, which is more relevant in recruitment. The advantage of the IRT statistical method is to maintain the ipsative approach while overcoming its main drawback, allowing for better comparison between individuals. The benefit of this new approach for Profil Pro 2 is to minimize social desirability while gathering reliable data for making decisions in recruitment or talent management.

A Test that Meets Current Business Requirements

Profil Pro 2 provides a complete analysis of a candidate's profile based on 14 opposing dimensions. While revising the proven basic elements, the questionnaire integrates two new dimensions: Freethinking vs. Respect for Rules and Novelty Seeking vs. Familiarity Seeking. These new dimensions address the questions that HR managers and decision-makers most often ask: Will the candidate adapt to the company's culture and values? Will they be motivated to learn new things? Will they bring a new perspective to projects? Profil Pro 2 also scrutinizes all dimensions in relation to their links with skills. The evaluator can thus link the skills required for a position with the skills identified in the candidate to obtain a comprehensive overview of their performance potential.

A Unique and Comprehensive Report for Multiple Uses

Accessible via an intuitive and secure online evaluation platform, Profil Pro 2 provides a unique and modular report. The evaluator can choose which sections to display depending on the context of use. The report provides precise information on the candidate's personality, behavior, and motivations with personalized comments at 6 levels depending on the candidate's score. This precise information will guide the evaluator in making appropriate decisions based on objective elements. "Profil Pro 2 is the result of 3 years of meticulous work by our international Research and Innovation teams," says Patrick Leguide, CEO of Central Test. "Profil Pro 2 is a complete and reliable tool that can be used to address all HR challenges from recruitment to talent retention."

Central Test will offer its clients and HR decision-makers a unique experience by showcasing its new evaluation tool at a breakfast event on December 4, 2014, in Paris. Register here.
