To optimize your "recruitability rate", some levers are more effective than others! Blogging, microblogging (Twitter-like), networking on professional platforms...
The blog: visibility, notoriety and credibility
Cost: Medium
Time: High
Efficiency: High
The numbers speak for themselves. Thanks to the blog, I received nearly 10 job offers in 2008 – which is not over yet. I also received a dozen requests for quotes for freelance services – which I refused for contractual reasons. Even better, I was headhunted by an agency at the end of 2007, and recruited by another this month. With a professional and financial advancement as a result. In all cases, the blog was decisive.
Why?
Because a blog demonstrates a passion for a profession, a point of view on certain themes, a mastery of concepts and interactive uses. Because the blog, regularly updated and optimized, easily projects you into the high spheres of Google.
The blog ensures a controlled presence on identity, skills and field of activity. For a recruiter, it is a guarantee of "findability" and a reflection of your personality. Finally, of the one you choose to display, obviously... Knowing how to step outside the box with measure, from time to time, by letting little flaws, interests, etc., show through.
The blog is the showcase website of the employee, the executive, the job seeker. A self-marketing (or personal-branding) tool. Your business card times 10 that can accelerate your notoriety. Think about it, and don't wait to be in search mode to blog. Editing a blog is a marathon, not a sprint.
