How to optimize Boolean searches in Eureka?

All searches on the "all themes" and "skills" fields will search for information on both the Word CV and the ReKrute CV. All other queries such as "company name" or "position held" only search for information in the corresponding field(s) of the ReKrute CV.

Here are the Boolean operators you can use for your searches (lowercase or uppercase):

  • AND: between two words, it searches for candidates who have both words in their CV, separately or together.
  • OR: between two words, it searches for candidates who have one of the two words in their CV.
  • NOT: it excludes the following word from the search.
  • Quotation marks " ": surrounding a word or phrase means that only the exact word (or exact phrase) is searched for, and not a word containing these letters (or the words separately in the profile or CV).
  • The asterisk *: placed before or after a sequence of letters, it allows you to search for all words that begin with these letters (asterisk at the end) or that end with these letters (asterisk at the beginning). For example, if you enter commerc*, you will get CVs with the words commercial, commerce, commerciaux, etc.

Each time you change an operator (for example, you had OR and you add NOT), you must put all the words related to the Boolean operator in parentheses.

Example: (Java OR J2EE OR Angular) NOT (PHP): will search for candidates who have Java or J2EE or Angular in their CV while excluding those who also have the word PHP.
