A happy employee is a more efficient employee: their daily work becomes a source of fulfillment. Hence the importance of instilling positive emotions at work. Joy, enthusiasm, and optimism are all avenues of emotional intelligence to explore without moderation.
Being Pleasant Every Day
A good work atmosphere and... our daily lives can literally change. A simple observation: when everyone complains and grumbles all the time, it quickly becomes depressing!
But if the atmosphere isn't there, don't automatically blame others. Everyone has to participate!
What if you started simply by saying hello to your colleagues when you arrive at work? With a smile, it's even better. Add a kind word and you'll be close to perfection. Indeed, being pleasant every day without being overly subservient is good for morale.
The Glass Half Full
Even if you're not in a great mood every day to welcome colleagues and clients with a smile, know that optimism is something you can work on. Indeed, you can start by adopting the theory of the glass half full, which some still see as half empty... This theory can help you regain enthusiasm and motivation even during difficult times.
For example, if you're going through a turbulent period, try to look at everything you've already accomplished so far. This can help you put things into perspective.
Another example: instead of counting the time lost in transit, count the time gained listening to the radio or reading your favorite novel.
Moreover, know that some theories are based on the fact that having a positive mind produces positive events. The more optimistic and enthusiastic the attitude, the more the future is seen in a happier light.
Laughter is Serious
Above all, dare to laugh! Indeed, many believe that working seriously requires adopting an austere behavior. This is completely false! You can work very seriously without taking yourself too seriously. However, the virtues of laughter are undeniable. It relaxes, it builds self-confidence, it helps develop a positive attitude. And it's contagious!
