After the interview, after a certain delay, remember to give a sign of life to your contact. You will find in this article four examples of letters to react in this situation.
To remind them of your application
Your objective: to signify to the recruiter that you have understood their expectations and that you are interested.
I wanted to thank you for our interview on March 18th.
I have noted the three main responsibilities of the available Web writer/documentalist position:
Responsibility for the company's documentary service;
Creation of a weekly internal press review, based on reading the professional press and internet research;
Writing content and editorial responsibility for the company website, intended for internal and external audiences.
These responsibilities perfectly match my skills and professional goals, I wanted to specify this. Therefore, I await your news with great interest.

Your objective: to highlight one of your skills that could prove decisive in obtaining the position.
Following our interview on July 7th, I wanted to thank you for the attention you gave to my application for the Sales Manager position and to confirm my strong interest.
I also wanted to come back to an important point discussed during the interview: customer credit.
In my last position, we worked with credit insurance. As such, I am familiar with account opening procedures, monitoring authorized receivables, as well as specific techniques such as payment delegations.
Please know that if these methods are applicable to your company, I am competent to implement them.
It seemed important to specify this in this email.

To follow up after an interview without further action
This "original" formula can revitalize an interview without further action.
In the worst case, your email will not change anything if the recruiter has already made their decision.
We met on July 4th for an interview for an accounting manager position.
At the end of the interview, you very kindly informed me that you would decide within the next two weeks. However, to date, I have had no feedback from you.
I must, for my part, respond to a job offer. Nevertheless, the position you offer better suits my aspirations.
Before I make my decision, could you tell me the status of your recruitment?
