Professional Efficiency

We cannot manage more than two intellectual tasks at the same time because it leads to inattention, disorder and indecision. Yet the business world asks us to be more efficient, in short to always do more and that in less and less time.
Being efficient would therefore be to produce expected results and achieve set objectives, on time and on budget. Time is a unique resource: it can neither be accumulated nor conserved. Steps to better manage your time...
1. Know what you want to do
We can only manage our time if we know what we want to do with it. Our motivation in this area: the freedom that results from organization.
You have a clear vision of what you want to do and the time you are going to spend on it.
But, to achieve this goal, we are going to establish a plan.
To do this, create a table to fill in by hand week after week. Every Sunday fill in your grid. It's up to you to put in the times that suit you best.
You will write: in one color the professional affairs, in another, the special projects in progress (implementation of this method, for example), and a last one for personal affairs.
In this table, you will define the time you can currently give to your activity, taking into account three elements:
Time spent with your clients
Time spent studying, preparing your appointments
Time spent setting up this organization of your activity.
2. Rank all your activities in order of priority, distinguishing between urgent and important tasks.
Keep this table on your desk, it is very precious for doing what you said.
3. Identify and note the 5 emergencies for the next day
Create a "daily sheet", a small sheet on which you will write each evening the 5 emergencies to put in place the next day.
4. Persevere
Remember La Bruyère's phrase: "Most men, to achieve their ends, are more capable of a great effort than of long perseverance." But success has always been there for the persevering man!
