Employment - ATCT: 1775 Tunisians recruited in Arab countries.

From January 1 to August 31, 2012, 1775 Tunisian cooperators, including 188 first-time job seekers, were recruited, compared to 1272 during the same period in 2011 and 1146 in 2010, the Tunisian Agency for Technical Cooperation (ATCT) said in a statement.

These recruitments mainly affected Arab countries with 1481 recruits in the fields of education, health, commerce and marketing, European countries with 144 recruits in the fields of health, education and administration, as well as America and Australia with 77 recruits in the fields of education and administration, specifies the ATCT.

The Sultanate of Oman is at the top of the Arab countries that attract the largest number of Tunisian skills with 468 cooperators mainly in secondary education recruited by the Omani Ministry of Education.

Before joining their posts abroad, 133 candidates recruited by Saudi Arabia and Qatar, including 113 nurses and health technicians, benefited from additional training sessions in medical English, while 20 civil protection officers received training in general English.

Other training sessions were scheduled in Tunisia by the ATCT for 117 African and Arab executives on various themes including vocational training, fish marketing and fish market management, project management and evaluation, quality, and genomics and molecular biology applied to the detection and characterization of pathogens.

As part of South-South cooperation, technical assistance missions were carried out by 26 Tunisian experts for the benefit of Arab and African countries, the ATCT reports in this statement.
