Employment: 30,000 recruitments since January.

The Minister of Employment and Vocational Training stated that employment services have completed over 30,000 recruitment operations since the start of 2012 up to July 25, representing a 46.7% increase compared to the same period in 2011. During a regular press conference on Friday at the government palace, the minister indicated that over 27,000 recruitments are for permanent positions, with 8,000 benefiting higher education graduates.

He also announced the recruitment of 28,000 unemployed individuals during the same period without the intervention of the National Employment Fund, in addition to the ministry's support for micro-projects, through guidance, supervision, and financing.

Mr. Maatar declared that in 2012, 5042 unemployed individuals were recruited in commercial public institutions, 7400 in the chemical group, 1000 within technical cooperation, plus 2600 Tunisians who benefited from job placements in the Gulf countries and Europe.

Furthermore, the Minister of Employment and Vocational Training highlighted the self-employment encouragement program, effective in the coming days, enabling 80,000 higher education graduates to receive training, support, guidance, apprenticeships, and internships, while receiving a monthly allowance between 100 and 200 dinars.

This program targets job seekers holding a university degree or a BTS for at least two years, aged 28 and older, and registered with employment and self-employment offices for a year.
