Support for 15,000 Employees in Technical Unemployment

The emergency program of the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training provides measures to protect existing jobs in companies experiencing economic difficulties. Measures have been taken to benefit employees working in the distribution trade, whose period of technical unemployment will exceed six months.

2,000 could attend training courses to maintain their productivity; a measure that will be generalized to include 15,000 beneficiaries in 300 companies, in a first step. The second step will involve assessing the damage in the tourism sector and other sectors.

Also, tax measures will benefit business leaders. The State will take charge of all or part of the employer's contribution to social security for workers affected by reduced working hours or technical unemployment. 50% of the damage in damaged companies will be covered by the State.

In addition, the payment of corporation tax (IS) for the year 2010 has been postponed by one month. At the same time, two points of interest on loans with a repayment period not exceeding five years, as well as loans dedicated to reconstruction, will be covered by the State.
