Improving the business climate, strengthening entrepreneurship, and promoting employment will be at the top of the priorities within the framework of the strategy of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) for the next three years.
Indeed, the work areas of the 22 Commissions responsible for developing and implementing the employers' work strategy during this period were adopted at the CGEM's board meeting on Thursday in Casablanca, chaired by Ms. Meriem Bensalah Chaqroun.
For the employers' organization, improving the business climate necessarily involves simplifying procedures for entrepreneurs, improving and simplifying the tax system, and developing e-services for public administration.
Encouraging entrepreneurship will also be a major concern, through the development of public-private partnerships and simplifying access to public markets for Moroccan businesses. Within the framework of public-private partnerships, the CGEM will make every effort to demonstrate that transparency, the fight against informality and corruption are real levers of performance.
Regarding employment, vocational training and universities will be areas in which the CGEM intends to play an active role by aligning training programs with the realities of the labor market and the needs of businesses.
As for social dialogue, the employers will work to establish a direct and lasting social dialogue and will advocate for the adoption of the right to strike, adapting the labor code to national economic reality and organizing a real social summit.
The confederation will also be constantly listening to the regions, which will be at the heart of its concerns to ensure the expansion of the regional organization, promote the development of industrial policy and integrate the regional vision into the strategy for developing logistics competitiveness.
Consolidating the financing tools for regional SMEs, strengthening the use of mediation rules as an alternative method of dispute resolution, and finally setting up a system for monitoring regional statistical information are among the CGEM's priority areas.
Regarding the international strategy, the CGEM will work to make Morocco a trading platform towards Africa and Arab countries, and for the construction of an integrated economic Maghreb. The CGEM intends to take advantage of the opportunities offered by South-South cooperation and will work towards the economic construction of advanced status with the European Union.
Concerning free trade agreements, the CGEM will work in close collaboration and consultation with the government to monitor and improve the implementation of these agreements.
Finally, the CGEM will emphasize corporate social responsibility by working towards the development of a green economy through supporting national strategies and proposing new regulations on environmental protection.
