Over 400 direct jobs created in Bizerte in 2012 thanks to BTS

The Tunisian Solidarity Bank (BTS) granted 224 loans in 2012 to young entrepreneurs in the region. 183 loans were for creating new projects and 61 for expanding existing ones, declared the president of the BTS regional office in Bizerte to the TAP news agency correspondent in the region.

According to this source, the amount of loans granted exceeded 3.99 million dinars. 3.402 million dinars, or 85% of the total, were used to finance new projects in various sectors. "About 43% of the total loans, or 1.704 million dinars, were used to fund 78 projects benefiting university graduates," he revealed.

Regarding the sector distribution of loans in 2012, the president of the BTS regional office in Bizerte stated that the services sector was first, with 144 loans totaling 2.815 million dinars, followed by the small trades sector with 57 loans totaling 779,000 dinars.

"The agricultural sector is third with 24 loans worth 350,000 dinars, while the craft sector is fourth with 19 loans totaling 46,000 dinars," he added.

According to the president of the BTS regional office, the projects funded by the bank created 445 direct jobs: 258 in the services sector, 120 in small trades, 43 in agriculture, and 24 in crafts.

He noted that the recovery rate for loans granted by the BTS at the government level exceeded 62% in 2012. He added that this rate is satisfactory compared to rates in other regions, given the country's current situation.
