“Infotica” calls for implementing the ideas of six key projects set in 2011.

Members of the National Chamber of IT Services and Engineering companies "Infotica" have called on the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies to implement the ideas of the six key projects set in 2011.
These six project ideas, which concern the fields of agriculture, culture and tourism, will be implemented within the framework of a public-private partnership.
During a meeting attended by Mr. Mongi Marzouk, Minister of Communication and Information Technologies, the Chamber members agreed on Friday with the Ministry representatives to strengthen cooperation with various parties.
The aim is to promote the regulatory framework governing public procurement in the sector, which suffers from complicated procedures.
They emphasized the need to develop the ICT sector and simplify procedures while ensuring efficient private-public partnership in the field of outsourcing.
Better coordination with IT managers in public companies to create new job opportunities for university graduates, as well as simplifying the procedures for importing IT equipment and systems were also recommended by Infotica members.
They also highlighted the importance of joining efforts to make Tunisia a hub in the ICT field, in addition to the need to utilize the expertise of Tunisian specialists in this field.
"Infotica" is part of the Tunisian Union of Industry, Commerce and Crafts (UTICA).
IT services and engineering companies currently provide 10,000 jobs in Tunisia for specialists in the field and could provide an additional 50,000 jobs over the next three years. (TAP)
