Over 55,000 Job Seekers Placed Through Idmaj Program in 2012

At least 55,399 job seekers were placed through the Idmaj program in 2012, and 18,313 job opportunities were created through the Tahil program, the Minister of Employment and Professional Training, Abdelouahed Souhail, announced Monday in Rabat.
Job opportunities were created through contract training and qualifying or retraining, said Souhail, speaking at a press conference presenting the 2012 social report. He also noted the creation of 747 businesses under the Moukawalati program, which is undergoing a comprehensive evaluation study by the National Agency for the Promotion of Employment and Skills (Anapec).
Regarding the area of ??work and professional relations, "the year 2012 was characterized by the revitalization of the roles of the tripartite national councils provided for by the Labor Code: the collective bargaining council, the occupational health and safety council, the tripartite national committee for monitoring temporary employment, and the national investigation and conciliation commission," he specified.
Last year also saw the conclusion of a collective bargaining agreement with the company Tecmed in Tangier, the renewal of a collective bargaining agreement with Maroc Telecom, and the conclusion of 162 memoranda of understanding, he added.
Regarding the assessment of the control of the application of the provisions of labor legislation, work inspections resulted in 25,411 control visits in the industry, commerce, and services sectors and 1,306 control visits in the agricultural sector, the minister noted.
He also reported the handling of 33,854 individual conflicts in the industry, commerce, and services sectors and 42 collective conflicts at the national investigation and conciliation commission, of which 19 were resolved.
Regarding strikes, he noted that 335 strikes were recorded in 272 establishments in the industry, commerce, and services sectors, compared to 418 in 311 establishments in 2011, while 803 strikes were avoided in 657 establishments in the same sectors.
In the area of ??labor legislation and international standards, the year 2012 was marked by the promulgation of 3 decrees, 5 orders, and 2 decisions, and the adaptation of national legislation to the principles and provisions of international and Arab labor standards, through the ratification of 4 international and Arab labor conventions.
