I want to quit my job. Is there anything stopping me?

Quitting is a right, and legally, an employee is not required to give any explanation for their decision; however, they will not receive any compensation from the employer. If the employee is under a fixed-term contract, early termination of the contract may result in a court order to pay damages to their company. If the employment contract is indefinite, the freedom to resign is not without limits, since the notice period must be respected, the duration of which is regulated by legislation (one to six months depending on the employee's seniority), the employment contract, the collective bargaining agreement or custom.
Sudden resignations (without respecting the notice period) may be deemed abusive, as may those that take place at a particularly sensitive time for the company. On the other hand, if you had committed (through a training termination clause in the contract) to stay a certain number of years in the company that provided you with training, by resigning, you may be required to reimburse the cost of that training.
