AIESEC Career Days

From April 13th to 16th, 2011, AIESEC (International Association of Students in Economic and Commercial Sciences) organized career days on the Manouba campus, IHEC, ISG, and ESSEC, in addition to a job portal at the City of Sciences, which attracted many young unemployed people.
The aim of this event was to help students from different higher education institutions access Tunisian companies and employment.

The program included workshops, conferences, debates, etc. Coaches on site helped graduates and undergraduates prepare their resumes, cover letters, and interview skills.
Innovative ideas were presented, such as the video CV, which is inserted into a standard CV via a QR code (see our article on this topic), allowing candidates to introduce themselves in two minutes or less and giving employers an idea of the applicant's personality.

Around thirty companies participated in these days, including Tunisie Telecom, Tunisiana, Telos, Henkel, Ernest & Young, BFPME, as well as language institutes such as Amideast and the British Council, and certification bodies such as AB Consulting, which, according to its founding president, Abdelmajid Bou Abdallah, offered sixty young people from Sidi Bouzid free, internationally recognized training.
The many participants were focused and eager for opportunities, discussing with stand managers to learn about the companies and their offerings. Overall, those interviewed by Business News explained that this was a good step and that this type of event should be repeated, as it allows them to meet many job seekers in one place.

AIESEC is an association with a network of more than 50,000 students on 1,700 university campuses in over 110 countries. This year, the Tunisian branch of the association will offer students around 10,000 internship opportunities as part of its exchange program, including 3,000 abroad.
