4 months after the fall of Ben Ali and in a country in full democratic transition, Jamel Houas, CEO of KARTAGENE and the leading operator in "knowledge engineering", takes the temperature of entrepreneurship in Tunisia and launches his Soliman Business Academy, the first and only event of its kind in Tunisia.
If you define the concept and the idea of where the event came from?
The concept is simple: to create entrepreneurs, you don't need geniuses, you don't need very bright young people, but just young people who like to start for their own accounts. The event took place over three consecutive Sundays.
The first: it's the creation of a dream; the second: technical and managerial training; the third: it's meetings with financing companies. The goal is to initiate this adventure with maximum background and contacts.
Why did you choose for Soliman Business Academy to be based on a concept that is little developed in Tunisia, which is entrepreneurship?
In this post-revolution or reconstruction phase, the new Tunisia needs entrepreneurship more than ever as a real springboard for the national economy. It is one of the important meeting points of the efforts of the public authorities in the fight against unemployment and those of universities keen to provide training leading to job market opportunities.
For this, I took this initiative in order to instill the spirit of initiative in our young Tunisians.
For the choice of this region, it is my city and my origins, without forgetting its economic potential. Personally, I see that Soliman is among the rare small towns where you can do everything, all sectors can be developed, and I would like one day to see the port of Cap Bon (Soliman) become its economic capital.
Do you think that the Soliman platform provides a niche of new projects adapted to the needs of young people at this stage?
1000 times yes, if we see that in each economic sector, there is a national or global titan established in our area, this is not by chance, it is the result of several strategic studies that we must take advantage of.
The program?
The training cycles are spread over 3 Sundays and are led by experts and consultants who are very well known in the business world.
1st Sunday: sowing the dream
* Nadem Bardaa: speech entitled: "active citizen, young entrepreneur", consultant and personal development coach
* Ikbal Elloumi: speech entitled: "it doesn't only happen to others", businessman and consultant
* Billel Bouraoui: testimony of an entrepreneur in social networks
2nd Sunday: Training Academy
* Investment advantages for new promoters: by a senior official of the API
* Economic study of the business plan: Ms. Salma Baghdadi, co-founder of Scolaridée France.
* Financial study: Malek Sahli, chartered accountant.
* Communicating your project to succeed: communication expert.
3rd Sunday:
* Sicars
* Banks
* Business angels
* Businessmen
* Support funds
* Investment experts
For the 3rd Sunday of training, 12 financial institutions will be present to help young people financially to develop their projects.
What are the institutions involved in this competition?
Sicars, banks, business angels and entrepreneurship support funds.
Could this strategic approach consolidate the business climate in a changing and uncertain context, in order to allow young promoters to move to a higher level of activity?
You cannot talk about democracy without talking about a real economy, based on SMEs. In this context and if we study the most developed economies in the world, we will see that the creation of companies is the engine that creates value while reducing unemployment and participating in the construction of a richer, stronger and above all more influential country in the world.
This is why the entrepreneurial fabric must regain its cruising speed as soon as possible to ensure a rapid economic recovery. In this context, we hope that Soliman Business Academy will become a tradition that will contribute to the reconstruction of our country.
