The launch of the "Start" (Ibdaa) project in the Kairouan governorate was announced Tuesday at a three-day conference held in Kairouan, organized by the Ministry of Vocational Training and Employment.
This project aims to support local development by setting up 15 micro-projects for young job seekers in three delegations (El Ala, Oueslatia and Nassr Allah).
The project is part of a framework agreement between the Ministry of Vocational Training and Employment and the Maghreb Organization for Studies and Human Resource Development (OMEDH), under the aegis of the International Organization for Migration (IOM). It targets immigrants who are returning permanently to the country, by helping them set up their own micro-projects.
"The Office of Tunisians Abroad (OTE) is working to select beneficiaries and monitor their projects in partnership with civil society and the relevant government structures," said the director of the OTE, Lassad Laabidi, to the TAP agency correspondent in the region, hoping for the generalization of this initiative across the regions.
