CNSS mandatory benefits do not cover medical expense reimbursements. Health insurance was created to cover beneficiary care.

Since summer 2005, affiliation with Health Insurance in Morocco has been mandatory for companies, but still free for employees who actually pay a portion when they contribute to CNSS. The law applies to a large category of people, including those subject to the social security system (CNSS) in effect in the private sector.

1. AMO Beneficiaries:

Basic mandatory health insurance covers the subscriber and all family members who are their dependents, provided they are not personally beneficiaries of similar insurance.

2. Coverage:

Medical coverage includes reimbursement of medical expenses and care. The reimbursement rate for care is:

  • 70% of the reference price for care provided by the private sector
  • 90% of the same price for care and services provided by public hospitals
