Turkish Group Tekfen Construction Creates 3000 Jobs in Morocco

The Turkish group Tekfen Construction confirms its ambitions in civil engineering and public works in Morocco. It announced the creation of 3000 direct and indirect jobs in the Kingdom in 2011, reports L'Economiste. The group won several projects for the Moroccan Office of Phosphates and will need technicians. The first project involves building a pipeline linking Jorf Lasfar to Khouribga and requires nearly 700 new employees, according to the same source. The second project involves building two fertilizer plants for Maroc Phosphore. It will generate a minimum of 1700 jobs. The group used the National Agency for the Promotion of Employment and Skills (Anapec) to recruit its personnel.

Tekfen already employs "at least 500 people" in the expansion project of the SAMIR group refinery. Before that, the group built the highway section linking Tangier to the port of Oued R'mel. In addition to Morocco, Tekfen Construction is present in 15 countries in Europe, Asia and Africa.
