Morocco must make youth employment a lever for its socio-economic development, affirmed Friday in Fes, the president of the Economic and Social Council (CES), Mr. Chakib Benmoussa.
Speaking at a symposium on the theme "the employability of young graduates of higher education in Morocco", Mr.
Benmoussa said that the issue of youth employment is the responsibility of all public, private and associative actors, both at the central and territorial levels.
Institutes, universities, and public or private institutions must mobilize to provide a lasting solution, particularly to youth unemployment, he specified, noting that the CES took the initiative, from its inception, to make the issue of youth employment a central and priority theme of its work.
In this context, he recalled that the report on youth employment, designed by the CES in consultation with civil society and government bodies, will be presented at the end of this year, stressing that the document confirms the worrying findings on unemployment in general and proposes, among other things, avenues for reflection to remedy this problem.
He added that the CES is working to initiate a debate among its various components, with a view to producing practical proposals that meet the aspirations of young people to consolidate the democratic process.
This symposium, initiated by the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences of Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah University of Fes, offers a debate involving a panel of speakers who will shed light, over two days, on various topics, including "Matching training/employment", "The integration of unemployed graduates into the civil service: analysis, evaluation and teaching of an experience", "Youth employability" and "strategy for improving the employability of young graduates of higher education in Morocco".
