Morocco Launches Textile Plan to Capture 1% of Global Market and Create 250,000 Jobs

Text: (Ecofin Agency) - By 2025, the Kingdom of Morocco plans to make, with private partners, an investment of 30 billion dirhams (€2.7 billion) to re-industrialize its textile sector, which accounts for almost 40% of industrial jobs.
The goal is to improve attractiveness and positioning in the global textile market to generate 95 billion dirhams (€8.5 billion) in exports and create 250,000 jobs.
"Contractualization will play a vital role in implementing the Textile Plan 2025, which aims to be a proactive program to boost the Moroccan textile sector for sustainable strategic repositioning," announced Abdelkader Amara (photo), Minister of Industry, Trade, and New Technologies.
