The National Syndicate Chamber of IT Services and Engineering Companies organized a half-day event in Tunis on Thursday to present the strategy of the urgent Amal program, adopted by the Ministry of Professional Training and Employment, to relaunch the employment sector and strengthen the employability of young university graduates.
To address the alarming situation and the increasing demand in the job market, Faiza Kallel, a representative from the Ministry of Professional Training and Employment, specified that this is an ambitious program aimed at restoring hope to first-time job seekers who are university graduates but haven't found employment yet. She also recalled that there are currently 500,000 unemployed people, including 150,000 university graduates.
This new strategy also aims to develop the employability of the program's beneficiaries through active and personalized support. This involves guiding individuals towards coaching, training, retraining for high-demand jobs, and professional supervision through short-term internships (3-6 months) in various companies.
The ministry representative also emphasized that those enrolled in the Amal program receive a monthly allowance of 200 dinars, along with medical and social coverage, for one year. In return, they must actively participate in job searching and improve their employability. The success of this program hinges on all stakeholders playing their roles and fulfilling their responsibilities through commitment and realism.
Khaled Jerbi, a member of the National Syndicate Chamber of IT Services and Engineering Companies (Infotica), stated that these meetings aim to support the Ministry of Professional Training and Employment in its emergency employment plan.
He also recalled that the program aims to stimulate job creation, develop entrepreneurship and micro-enterprises, and support businesses in maintaining existing jobs.
He also highlighted Infotica's important role: "We urge companies to boost partnerships across all areas to create more jobs. Our goals include developing exports and promoting offshore services, boosting the local market, promoting business competitiveness, and defending their interests with national and international institutions."
Furthermore, Infotica member companies enjoy privileged access to the Chamber's structures to exchange experiences and expertise, accelerating their development projects by learning about IT sector-specific issues in Tunisia. He specified.
