The "Tunis Telecom City" bill approved

The Education, Culture, Information and Youth Committee of the House of Representatives approved, during a meeting on Tuesday, the bill authorizing the State to approve the investment agreement for the creation of "Tunis Telecom City", in Kalaat Landlous.

The deputies mentioned, on this occasion, the success of major national choices in the field of economic and social development, transforming Tunisia into a major regional hub attracting foreign investment in various sectors.

They stressed the importance of this project for the consecration of the orientations of the development policy based on consolidating employment, encouraging investments in high-employment and promising sectors, and revitalizing agreements for the investment of Arab capital in Arab countries.

Emphasis was also placed on the variety and complementarity of the project's components, the most important of which are the creation of an international university of communications in engineering and management, a training center, an international telecom exchange, a research and technological development center, another for satellite data transfer, residential housing units and high-end commercial and tourist premises.

In this regard, the members of the committee welcomed the provisions of this agreement, which emphasizes the priority of employment and training for Tunisian workers in the project's operational plan.

The General Legislation and General Administration Organization Committee, for its part, approved this bill during a meeting on Tuesday.
