Morocco: A Mecca for Young French Graduates - 55,000 have settled there.

More and more young French graduates are tempted to come and work in Morocco. This is what emerges from a survey recently published by Europe 1. Interviewed on this subject by the French radio station, Charlotte Lefort, operations director of Rekrute.com, estimates that the number of young French people trying their luck on the other side of the Mediterranean has doubled in six years. The recruitment firm receives between 300 and 350 CVs from France every month. And one in ten candidates comes from France for a job in Morocco. Geographical proximity and rapid career progression largely explain this attraction to the Kingdom. It should also be noted that unemployment, the economic crisis, lack of prospects and the high cost of living are all reasons that push young people to leave France to go and work in Morocco. They are seduced by the Kingdom's economic dynamism. With a growth rate of 5%, it is easier to find a job than in France.
In addition to this is the fact that Morocco is a French-speaking country, which is a major asset for these young people looking for work. If employment is accessible, salaries are lower than in France. On the other hand, career progression is faster in Morocco. So, by being diligent, it is possible to double your salary very quickly.
The enthusiasm for Morocco seems to worry the authorities, who are trying to curb the phenomenon somewhat. To give priority to Moroccan graduates, they require companies in the country that wish to hire a French person to explain why they are not hiring a Moroccan.
It should be recalled that for several years, Morocco has become a preferred destination for the French. Today, around 55,000 are settled in Morocco.
