Telework, remote work, or working from home—many terms illustrate this new way of earning a living… from home. Made possible by the development of technologies in general, and the internet in particular, this option is increasingly appealing to people seeking a better quality of life.
Telework: A concept for specific profiles
Telework is the ideal solution for employees who want a better work-life balance; who spend a lot of time commuting; or who need to concentrate without being disturbed at the office and/or have mobility issues. If you fit any of these descriptions, telework is perfect for you!
Telework has its advantages…
No more daily commutes between home and office. By working from home, fatigue is reduced and efficiency increases! It’s proven that an employee working in their home environment, with fewer constraints and less stress from commuting, enjoys a better work-life balance, is simply happier and less tired, and therefore more productive…
Absenteeism is another important point. This new concept significantly reduces absenteeism. Absences due to family or health issues can significantly impact a company's performance over a year. With telework, for example, caring for a sick child doesn’t require leaving the "office"…
…but also its disadvantages!
A major drawback of working from home is the manager-employee relationship. Managers can’t directly supervise employees working from home, so they need strong trust and clearly defined objectives to monitor the progress of their remote teams… which can be challenging to manage!
Here and elsewhere…
In Europe and the United States, telework has been encouraged and developed for decades. With the internet boom, people work from home, communicating via email and other rapid remote communication methods…
In Morocco, telework is not yet fully integrated with new technologies. However, a new type of teleworker is emerging. For example, many independent female journalists, known for their strong personalities and diverse skills, successfully balance their personal and professional lives.
This new way of working could develop further in our country thanks to the internet, but for now, our country doesn’t seem ready…
