Mr. Chami announced, during the 2nd edition of the Regional Industrial Days initiated under the theme "Industrial productivity at the heart of business support programs", that these businesses, representing 5% of the total number of businesses in Morocco, operate in the sectors of refining, textiles and leather, metal, mechanics, agri-food, technologies and communications, and business services.
He recalled that SMEs, which represent 95% of Moroccan businesses, contribute 50% of the jobs created by industrial businesses and provide 20% of the added value, 30% of exports, 40% of production, and 50% of investment.
These businesses are subject to a number of constraints, including the fragility of their structures, weakness of their human and technical resources, lack of understanding of market evolution, increasing international demands, impact of market opening, and complexity of procedures, he estimated, stressing that SMEs need financing, support, training, infrastructure, land, and a good business environment.
Mr. Chami also noted that the National Pact for Industrial Emergence provides appropriate responses to these needs through 111 specific and concrete measures, resulting from concerted and participatory work.
And to recall, in this sense, the training offers, the public-private funds set up to support the development of SMEs or the "Imtiaz" programs dedicated to strengthening the company's potential and "Moussanada", adding that only three businesses in Mohammedia have benefited from the Imtiaz program.
These regional days aim to inform and raise awareness among businesses about the support and assistance programs that are currently operational and available to them to enable them to achieve substantial gains in terms of productivity, as well as to gather the expectations of businesses in order to provide the necessary responses within a shared framework guaranteeing better efficiency.
They are organized by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and New Technologies, the National Agency for the Promotion of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (ANPME) and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of each region concerned.
