Everyone is undoubtedly looking for the ideal job… But what are its main ingredients? You can naturally never be sure that a job suits you before you have started it, but this checklist will surely help you.
A set of interesting tasks
The essential thing is obviously that you can work every day on interesting tasks/projects and that you simply enjoy doing your work. Even if you earn gold bars, your colleagues are your best friends and you have a super cool manager… if you don’t perform your tasks with pleasure, you will never be fully satisfied with your work. Make sure you find a job where you can learn things every day, and which offers you enough variety to remain interesting. Therefore, analyze the job offer well, so that you know exactly what is expected of you.
A good salary
Your salary is extremely important. Everyone naturally wants to be paid enough, which is normal. If you give your all to your job, it is normal to want to be remunerated accordingly. Of course, your salary depends on your position. If you don’t want more responsibilities, there is very little chance that you will earn as much as your manager. But a salary adapted to the work is certainly a major factor in choosing a job.
Company culture
You spend more time at work than with your spouse and/or your family. So it’s just as well to feel good at work. It is obviously difficult to get an idea of ??the atmosphere at work before you have started. During the job interview, you can however ask questions about aspects important to you, such as the dress code, the work environment, any teambuilding activities… Also ask if you can already meet the colleagues, so that you know who you are going to collaborate with.
A good manager
Maintaining a good relationship with your boss is also very important for you to feel good in your job. It is important to be able to discuss your work and the atmosphere at work with him/her. A good relationship facilitates collaboration, and the atmosphere at work will only be better.
Opportunities for advancement
This is not the case for everyone, but many people like to have future prospects. It is always more pleasant to start in a position knowing that there is ultimately a possibility.
