1 – I monitor my company
What are my company's results, what is the economic situation in my sector of activity and my profession? It is important to stay informed on these issues to avoid unpleasant surprises at the end of the year (restructuring, change of functions, economic dismissal, job cuts, etc.) and to be able to anticipate career changes.
2 – I set myself objectives
Why not take advantage of the back-to-work period to review your objectives? You had innovative ideas this summer about new clients to win, new markets to enter, a reorganization of your department, etc...
Take this opportunity to clarify them. Of course, it's not about setting unattainable goals, but simply about being a clear and realistic source of proposals for yourself and your superior.
3 – I cultivate my network
Nowadays, it has become essential to be present and active on social networks. It is not enough to have a profile on Viadeo and LinkedIn and a Facebook, Google+, and Twitter account; you must increase the number of contacts and/or friends and regularly update these social networks.
4 – I manage my time effectively
There's nothing like the return to work to try to better manage your work time and leave the office earlier to enjoy your family. To do this, it is important to ask yourself the right questions: Have I chosen a job that respects my personal rhythms? Does my company promote the values I approve of? Does my job give me pleasure? The return to work is the ideal time to take stock of yourself before falling into the infernal cycle of activity.
5 – I eat a balanced lunch
No more sandwiches and pizzas, and make way for balanced meals that will help you stay in shape. Avoid eating in front of your computer as much as possible: besides the crumbs accumulating on your keyboard, a lunch break is necessary, if only to take your eyes off the screen. This can also be a way to chat informally with colleagues and strengthen ties, and sometimes even solve certain problems.
6 – I do sports
This is often the first back-to-work resolution that is abandoned the fastest... Especially if you have planned this activity in the evening after work... This is due to a meeting that drags on, picking up the youngest child from school, or even going shopping to fill the fridge... Try to schedule a sports activity early in the morning (nothing like a swimming session to start the day) or between noon and 2 p.m. But above all, the most important thing is to choose an activity that you really enjoy. So, forget jogging if it feels like torture to you, or overcrowded gyms with loud music. Consider yoga, karate, badminton, volleyball, or any other activity and have fun!
