RH Advisor survey on candidate experience in recruitment firms.
Tripadvisor, Glassdoor, it’s all about comparison now. The American job posting and company rating site, Glassdoor, is giving HR and internal communication departments a run for their money! Since October 2014, the collaborative platform has been online in French, allowing employees to give their opinions on their company. Meilleures-Entreprises.com had already positioned itself in this niche a few years ago. Companies can no longer hide behind corporate speeches and have become completely transparent and open. Candidates can use these comparison sites as a wealth of information to get a clear idea of companies and available positions.
Recruitment firms, too, will not be able to remain shielded for long from a comparative analysis of their practices. They have already been hit hard by the rise in power of social networks as sourcing tools. Today, they must stand out and show how their services can add value.
On January 19th, RH Advisor organized an event: "The candidate experience in recruitment and headhunting firms: expectations, perceptions and realities". The recruitment professional comparator collected the opinions of 1093 candidates. The RH Advisor site has 1067 referenced professionals, of whom 130 have been evaluated to date. Present at the meeting to discuss the topic were: Christophe Burgaud, Associate Director at Signium International, Xavière Phisel, Associate Director at Sirca, Caroline Guichet, Associate Director of Emergences RH, Nicolas Chieze, Director of Efficience RH Conseil, and Chantal Engel, employer attractiveness specialist and author of the Guide des palmarès employeurs et prix RH.
The survey shows that recruitment firms are rated rather well for their recruitment, sourcing, and interim management activities, with a score of 3.91/5. Human contact is satisfactory, with a rating of 4.09/5. Dissatisfaction begins to appear regarding the follow-up of applications, with a 3.72/5. With a score of 1.32/5, recruitment firms need to improve on the follow-up of candidates after their integration into the company. Generally, recruited individuals are more satisfied than those who received a refusal. Only 23% of candidates would recommend their firm to other people.
The discussions revealed that HR providers did not sufficiently measure the risks in terms of return on investment of the candidate experience. Let's not forget that candidates also represent a pool of future clients. Good processes facilitate good integrations and lead to high satisfaction rates. More than ever, the relationship is at the heart of the profession in an environment where virtual relationships have become an established alternative for recruiting.
