The head of government, Abdelilah Benkirane, announced on Saturday in Rabat that minimum retirement pensions will be raised to 1,000 DH, as part of the Collective Retirement Allocation Scheme (Rcar).
This decision, which will require 1 billion DH per year, will benefit a large number of retired civil servants who previously received pensions ranging from 200 to 400 DH, Benkirane stressed at the beginning of an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Government.
In this regard, he recalled that this decision, the result of negotiations with the Caisse de dépôt et de gestion (CDG), was among the priorities of the government program.
The head of government also welcomed this measure, which will benefit a large category of former civil servants and retired agents of local authorities and public institutions.
On the other hand, the Council examined a draft law creating and organizing the Social Works Foundation for officials and agents of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, as well as the Arab Convention on the transfer of inmates from correctional and penitentiary institutions and another on the fight against cybercrime, signed in Cairo on December 21, 2010, in addition to two draft laws approving these conventions.
The Council also followed a presentation by the Minister Delegate in charge of Public Service and the Modernization of Administration on the legal implications of the decision of the Constitutional Council concerning the organic law relating to appointments to senior positions, pursuant to Articles 49 and 92 of the Constitution.
