Disciplinary Sanctions

It's important to know that in Morocco, a written employment contract is not mandatory. It is one means of proof among others, such as the testimony of colleagues.
Disciplinary Measures
The employer may take the following disciplinary sanctions against an employee who has committed a minor offense (repeated lateness, unjustified absences of less than four days, errors in work, etc.):
- A warning;
- A reprimand;
- A second reprimand or suspension not exceeding eight days;
- A third reprimand or change of department, taking into account the employee's place of residence.
It should be noted that these sanctions must be applied gradually. Dismissal of the employee is justified if, during the same year, he accumulates all these sanctions.
