Offshore Companies in Sfax Resume Operations

Offshore companies in the Sfax region have resumed operations despite some challenges. Unemployed individuals pressured these companies for job opportunities.

According to a survey conducted by the Sfax Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation (APII) on foreign exporting companies (80 companies), offshore company managers did not leave the country during recent events. About twenty companies have resumed operations (production and export), highlighting the return of security and stability to the country.

It is worth noting that some cable companies, a seafood export unit, and an olive oil refinery were approached by citizens seeking employment.

The industrial sector includes 780 companies employing approximately 50,000 people. Of these, 180 are exporting companies, contributing 10% to national exports.

The business world in Sfax was also marked by the resignation of Mr. Abdellatif Zayani, president of the Regional Union of Industry, Commerce, and Crafts (URICA), and 12 other members of the union's executive board out of a total of 28 members.
