French MEP Rachida Dati advocated for promoting the co-location of activities between Europe and Morocco, highlighting that "the excellent health of the Moroccan industry is an opportunity for European businesses."
"Europe and Morocco must continue to intensify their exchanges to strengthen the competitiveness and development of our economies" and "bet on common and complementary growth," she declared in a press release following the 3rd Industrial Summit in Morocco.
On Europe's doorstep, Morocco has become "a key partner for the international development of European businesses. And we can achieve this development without sacrificing jobs in Europe," said Ms. Dati, calling for the promotion of the concept of co-location.
"Co-locating activities allows businesses to gain new market share, improve competitiveness, and therefore create new jobs in Europe and Morocco," stressed the former French Minister of Justice.
In the aeronautics sector, "the dynamism of the Moroccan industry has already attracted major groups. Many subcontractors have also chosen to settle there," noted Ms. Dati, noting that "the entire European aeronautics sector can benefit from this growth lever."
In this context, she stressed the need to "continue the integration of our economies, which can benefit other sectors of activity," particularly mentioning the aerospace field. "The development of the Galileo satellite navigation system is an important issue in discussions between Europe and Morocco," she suggested.
Beyond Morocco's "economic prowess," Europe can count on this country, now a "model of political stability in North Africa," thanks to the significant and visionary reforms implemented by HM King Mohammed VI in recent years, concluded the MEP.
