Employee Experience Starts with Onboarding, Through a Structured Onboarding Journey: Insights from Malika Ghilan, HR Development Manager at Safran Nacelles

In an aeronautics sector where innovation, operational excellence, and skills development are essential, employee experience relies on companies' ability to support talent from their very first day and offer them long-term prospects.

Malika Ghilan, HR Development Manager at Safran Nacelles, discusses the group's strengths, her vision of employee experience, and the measures put in place to strengthen its attractiveness and well-being at work.

Safran Nacelles designs, integrates, and provides support and after-sales service for aircraft nacelles. The company is a world leader in the market for commercial aircraft with over 100 seats, business jets, and regional aircraft. At the forefront of technology, Safran Nacelles develops nacelles that are increasingly integrated with engines, aerodynamic, lightweight, and equipped with advanced acoustic treatments, thus contributing to reducing aircraft CO2 emissions and noise. The Group operates in all segments of the aeronautics market, from regional and business aircraft to long-haul airliners. It supplies and develops nacelles for major programs such as the Airbus A320neo, the Airbus A330neo, and the COMAC C919 equipped with LEAP engines, as well as for business aircraft engines like the GE Passport or Rolls-Royce Pearl engines. Safran Nacelles also has recognized expertise in composite and metallic materials, as well as in acoustic treatments. Safran Nacelles Morocco has over 1,250 employees and produces more than 27,700 composite parts annually. It is the largest aeronautical production site in the country and the first to have manufactured composite material parts.

At Safran Nacelles, employee experience is given special attention and begins with integration, through a structured onboarding journey that allows everyone to take up their role in the best conditions. This journey is managed jointly by HR teams and management, to ensure close support and progressive skills development. Employee development then continues through various schemes: certified and degree-granting training; coaching and mentoring; individualized support for professional paths. Internal mobility is also a major lever for the Group's activities in Morocco and internationally.

Safran Nacelles develops an active policy for well-being at work, based on strong collective dynamics and regular initiatives throughout the year. The company organizes many unifying events such as International Women's Day, Safety Day, Pink October, SSE back-to-school, Progress Day, Clean-Up Day, and year-end celebrations. Inclusion and diversity are also priorities, particularly through awareness campaigns for visible and invisible disabilities, as well as CSR initiatives actively involving employees. Furthermore, the company encourages sports activities through internal initiatives and participation in external events, an approach recognized by obtaining the "entreprise sportive" label in 2025. Safran Nacelles Morocco also values innovation and operational excellence through continuous improvement schemes and internal competitions, complemented by skills development programs (Green Belt and Black Belt certifications). Finally, participation in student forums helps strengthen the Group's attractiveness and meet the talents of tomorrow.
